On July 1, 2020, a dramatic scene unfolded at the Senate as Senators Beatrice Kwamboka and Mary Seneta engaged in a heated exchange that escalated into physical blows.

The altercation occurred during the election of the Senate Health Committee, with Senator Ledama Ole Kina emerging as the deputy chairperson.

Senator Kwamboka, the Deputy Minority Whip, and Senator Seneta were at odds over the election, with reports suggesting that Senator Seneta had wanted the election postponed.

According to eyewitnesses, the tension between the two senators boiled over after Senator Farhiya Ali, the Deputy Majority Whip, accused Senator Millicent Omanga of forging her signature.

Senator Kwamboka was heard shouting, 'I will deal with you, I am in leadership, you will know who I am.'

Senator Ledama Ole Kina expressed his surprise at the opposition to his election, stating, 'I was elected to chair the Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) and was denied, now I have been elected vice chair Health Committee and now they are trying to frustrate me.'
