CAF Postpones AFCON and CHAN Matches Due to COVID-19

On June 30, 2020, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2020 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new dates for the AFCON matches were set for January 2022, while the AWCON matches were postponed indefinitely.

Additionally, the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) matches, which were scheduled to take place in September 2020, have been postponed to January 2021.

According to CAF, the matches will be rescheduled to take place in Cameroon and Morocco, with the exact dates to be announced later.

CAF made the announcement through a virtual meeting held on June 30, 2020, which was attended by top officials from the organization and member associations.
