2020 China-Africa Digital Trade Week Kicks Off

On June 29th, 2020, the inaugural session of the China-Africa digital Trade Week kicked off online, marking a significant milestone in China-Africa economic cooperation.

The event, co-organized by the China International Chamber of Commerce and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wuhan committee, brought together Chinese and African dignitaries, including Chinese Ambassadors and Counsellors, to discuss ways to deepen trade relations and overcome challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key speakers at the event included Wu Meng, Director-General of the Bilateral Cooperation department of CCOIC, and Sun Yuansong, Chairman of CCPIT Wuhan committee, who emphasized the importance of strengthening connectivity and promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa.

Other notable speakers included Zhang Chengang, Second Inspector of CCPIT Hebei committee, Wang Jiaxin, Business counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Rwanda, and Dr. Appiagyei, Chairman of the Ghana International Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the forum, Chinese enterprises, including China Road & Bridge, Guangdong LONON, and ChengLi Heavy Industry, shared their business experiences in Africa, while CCPIT Wuhan committee signed an MOU with foreign counterparts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanges.

The China-Africa Digital Trade Week, which was officially kicked off during the forum, aims to promote economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa, and to help Chinese and African enterprises jointly fight the epidemic and rebuild trade interactive.
