On July 1, 2020, Mary Kwamboka Onyancha, a woman who claimed Chief Justice David Maraga fathered a child with her, received an unexpected offer of support from Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga.

Omanga, in a post on her verified Facebook page, empathized with Onyancha and criticized those who had attacked her for the claims.

"Dear Kwamboka, as a woman and a mother, I understand your anger and refuse to join ranks with those who are condemning you," Omanga posted.

Omanga offered Onyancha Ksh 100,000 to help her prove the allegations against the Chief Justice, stating that the money should be used for legal representation and DNA tests.

However, Maraga's lawyer, Danston Omari, disputed the birth certificate presented by Onyancha, pointing out that there is no registrar of births by the name F.O Shamwata in the country.
