On August 14, the Wanda Diamond League will resume at the Louis II Stadium in Monaco, featuring a star-studded lineup of athletes.
Among the confirmed competitors are world champions Yulimar Rojas and Sifan Hassan, world record holder Joshua Cheptegei, and European 110m hurdles champion Pascal Martinot-Lagarde.
Monaco has been a successful venue for Rojas, who broke the world record in the mile at the Herculis EBS Meeting last year. Her historic 1,500m/10,000m double victory at the World Championships followed shortly after.
However, it remains unclear which distance Hassan will run at the upcoming meet. The women's programme includes both 1,000m and 5,000m races.
Cheptegei, the 23-year-old world record holder, has already displayed impressive form in 2020, setting a new world record at the Monaco Run 5km with a time of 12:51.
Martinot-Lagarde, a long-time favourite in Monaco, broke the French national record at the Herculis EBS Meeting in 2014 with a time of 12.95 seconds.
