Robinson Mayama, a devoted husband, father, and educator, left an indelible mark on the lives of those around him. Born to the late Samwel Mayama and the late Loice Mayama, he was a son-in-law to the late Paul Mulomi and the late Rose Mulomi of Muruka, Busia.
On June 23, 2020, Robinson's life was cut short, leaving behind his loving wife, Mary Agnes Mayama, and their five children: Elizabeth Nalwende Mayama, Clevers Sakwa Mayama, Nelson Kusumo Mayama, Daisy Andawa Mayama, and Joy Vivian Kusumo. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robinson was a dedicated teacher in Kenya and an active member of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), where he served in various capacities. In the United States, he worked as a direct support staff for Venture Community Service in Worcester.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 2, from 4pm to 7pm at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel in Worcester, Boston. His funeral service will take place on Friday, July 3rd at 9am, followed by interment at Saint John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
As the family mourns the loss of their beloved Robinson, they find comfort in the words of Matthew 11:28 and Job 1:21, which remind them that 'the Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.'
