Woman's Mother Passes Away After Predicting Her Own Death

Published on June 30, 2020, a young woman named Nabis Omwiya took to Twitter to share a heart-wrenching story about her mother's preparations for her own funeral.

Omwiya's mother worked as a cleaner at a private hospital in South Africa and was stressed about the COVID-19 pandemic reaching the country's shores. She decided to plan her own funeral, fearing that she might lose her life due to her work at the hospital.

Omwiya shared a tweet from April 2020, where her mother had written, 'My mom is planning umngcwabo wakhe (planning her funeral). She sat my sister down last night and told her where things are and how we must handle everything should she die. She has really been stressing shame but at least today she was laughing efownin, I even said ukwi good mood because she has been down.'

However, barely two months later, Omwiya had to share devastating news with her followers. She revealed that her mother had passed away, but failed to detail the conditions surrounding her death.

Omwiya wrote, 'When I received that call from 041 I knew it was time to put my big girl panties on. Having to call my family yesterday to inform them of the news the hospital had just told me was so hard.'

She added, 'Kodwa ke kuyo yonke lonto, andimsoli uThixo. Andilili njengomntu ongenathemba. Mama bezobuza; 'bekufuneka ibengu Mama kabani Mntanam kuze ilunge'? uThixo uzosithwala (But through it all I am not angry at God. I am not crying like someone with no hope. Mom would ask me: whose mother should have passed away for you to feel better? God will carry us.'
