Angela Angwenyi, a renowned radio personality, has made a triumphant return to the airwaves after a five-year absence. Her debut show on Sierra Leone-based AYV Radio marked a new chapter in her illustrious career.

On her first day back on air, Angwenyi expressed her nervousness in a Facebook post, writing, 'So it's raining cats and dogs outside… First day back on air after 5yrs of being off radio, nerves galore… Wish me luck. Sierra Leone let's do this!'

As part of her new role, Angwenyi will co-host the breakfast show every weekday from 7:30am-10:30am, according to posters she shared.

Angwenyi's return to radio comes amidst a tumultuous period in her life. In 2018, her bank account was frozen as part of investigations into the National Youth Service scandal, in which her firm, Out of the Box Solutions Limited, won a Sh302 million consultancy contract.

Her financial struggles were further exacerbated when her Jacaranda Gardens house was put up for auction less than a year ago.

However, Angwenyi's career has not been without its highlights. In 2016, she was a leading PR manager and worked as a publicist for Nigeria's D'Banj and the Chocolate City label.
