June 30, 2020 - In a dramatic turn of events at Milimani Law Courts, Chief Justice David Maraga has responded to claims made by Mary Kwamboka, who alleged that the CJ is a deadbeat dad.
Through his legal team, led by city lawyer Danstan Omari, Maraga dismissed the allegations, stating that the documents presented by Kwamboka are fake.
Omari pointed out that the birth certificate presented by Kwamboka contains errors, including a non-existent registrar and a fictional officer.
He further stated that the drama witnessed at the courts is part of a malicious scheme to tarnish the CJ's name and compel him to resign.
Omari announced that they will be writing to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Inspector General of Police to investigate the documents annexed to the court.
According to Kwamboka's court papers, she had a romantic relationship with the CJ, resulting in the birth of their six-year-old son. She claimed that the CJ refused to provide child support, leading to her seeking justice.
