On June 30, 2020, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced 176 new COVID-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the total to 6,366.
The new cases were from a sample size of 2,419 tested in the last 24 hours.
According to Dr. Aman, all the latest cases are Kenyans, with 100 males and 76 females.
The youngest case is a 3-year-old child, while the oldest is 78 years old.
The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi having 99 cases, Mombasa 20, Kiambu 17, Migori 13, Uasin Gishu 10, Kajiado 4, Busia 4, Kilifi 3, Makueni 2, Machakos 1, Narok 1, Kakamega 1, and Kisumu 1.
Of the Nairobi cases, 99 are from various sub-counties, including Dagoretti North, Starehe, Westlands, Embakasi East, Kibra, Makadara, Kasarani, Lang'ata, Embakasi Central, and others.
Similarly, Mombasa cases are from Mvita, Kisauni, Changamwe, Jomvu, and Likoni, while Kiambu cases are from Kiambaa, Kikuyu, Ruiru, Juja, and Thika.
Other counties with cases include Migori, Uasin Gishu, Kajiado, Busia, Kilifi, Makueni, Machakos, Narok, Kakamega, and Kisumu.
As of June 30, 2020, the total cumulative samples tested since March stood at 169,836.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 148 after four more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
However, in the same period, 26 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 2,039.
