As Europe prepares to reopen its borders on 01 July 2020, visitors from Kenya will remain banned from visiting 31 European countries due to the country's failure to meet the threshold for containing the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to SchengenVisaInfo.com, only citizens from 14 countries will be allowed to enter Europe, including Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay.

Kenya has reported 6,366 cases of Covid-19, with 148 deaths and 2039 recoveries, making it one of the countries that have not met the required threshold for lifting travel restrictions.

The European Union is set to start lifting travel restrictions that were put in place to contain the virus, with the aim of saving the European tourism season that was badly shaken by the virus.
