Comedian Karis Mourns Fellow Comic Kasee, Regrets Failing to Rescue Him

Comedian Karis, born Erick Kariuki, has taken to social media to mourn the death of his fellow comic, Joseph Musyoki alias Kasee, and expressed regret over failing to rescue him from a troubled life.

According to Karis, the comedy fraternity failed Kasee, and he wishes they could have done more to help him. He noted that the circumstances surrounding Kasee's death were similar to those of the late Njenga Mswahili.

"We failed you Kasee, when things started going astray we failed to be there for you but it's not that we assumed it but because we were fighting our own demons. We failed you Kasee, the same way we failed Njenga Mswahili, and I remember visiting him at Mathari hospital then after a few months he was gone," Karis wrote on Instagram.

Karis also noted that there were triggers leading entertainers to their graves, wondering what they would do to prevent losing another person. He added that every outcome has a cause, and people don't just turn into drinking or drugs from the blue, there is a push - a trigger and depression, confusion, rejection, and stress are the main culprits.

On June 28, TUKO.co.ke reported that Kasee was found dead by the roadside in Kinoo area, Nairobi. Laugh Industry's Ken Waudo confirmed that reports indicated Kasee must have consumed a contaminated drink while hanging out with friends. Investigations had been opened to identify the clear cause of death.

It is worth noting that Kasee's problems started way back in 2019, and TUKO.co.ke had reported on his struggles after a source disclosed the comedian was in dire need of medical help. His mental health status was worrying, and it was feared he could have become worse if not assisted.
