Kenya's economy is slowly bouncing back from the COVID-19 pandemic, with exports in tea, flowers, and vegetables increasing since May, according to Central Bank of Kenya governor Patrick Njoroge.

However, the National Taxpayers Association is urging the government to invest more in essential projects that can create income for Kenyans, such as urban planning and affordable housing.

‘We want to see that the growth the government is mentioning reflects into essential services such as more water points and affordable housing for taxpayers of Kenya,’ said National Coordinator Irene Otieno.

While the government has focused on constructing roads and infrastructure projects, the association argues that these projects have not directly benefited taxpayers.
