COVID-19 Cases in Kenya Rise to 6,366

On June 30, 2020, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced 176 new COVID-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the total to 6,366. The patients were from a sample size of 2,419 tested in the last 24 hours.

According to Dr. Aman, all the latest cases are Kenyans, with 100 males and 76 females. The youngest case is a 3-year-old child, while the oldest is 78 years old.

The new cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi leading with 99 cases, followed by Mombasa with 20 cases. Other counties with reported cases include Kiambu, Migori, Uasin Gishu, Kajiado, Busia, Kilifi, Makueni, Machakos, Narok, Kakamega, and Kisumu.

Notably, Nairobi's 99 cases are from various sub-counties, including Dagoretti North, Starehe, Westlands, Embakasi East, Kibra, Makadara, Kasarani, Lang'ata, Embakasi Central, and others.

As of June 30, 2020, the total cumulative samples tested since March stood at 169,836. In the same period, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 148 after four more patients succumbed to the virus. However, 26 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 2,039.
