Kenya Records 176 New COVID-19 Cases Amid Rising Death Toll

On June 30, 2020, Kenya recorded 176 new cases of COVID-19, increasing the country's total confirmed cases to 6,366.

The new cases were reported from a sample size of 2,419 tested in the last 24 hours, according to Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman.

Of the new patients, 100 are male and 76 are female, with ages ranging from 3 to 78 years.

The distribution of cases by county is as follows: Nairobi (99 cases), Mombasa (20 cases), Kiambu (17 cases), Migori (13 cases), Uasin Gishu (10 cases), Kajiado (4 cases), Busia (4 cases), Kilifi (3 cases), Machakos (2 cases), Narok (1 case), Kakamega (1 case), and Kisumu (1 case).

According to the distribution by sub-county, Nairobi's 99 cases are spread across various areas, including Dagoretti North, Starehe, Westlands, and others.

Similarly, Mombasa's 20 cases are reported in Mvita, Kisauni, Changamwe, and other areas.

As of June 30, 2020, the total cumulative samples tested since March stood at 169,836.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 death toll in the country has risen to 148 after four more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.

However, in the same period, 26 patients were discharged, bringing the total recoveries to 2,039.
