Manchester United is on the verge of signing 16-year-old Barcelona defender Marc Jurado for a reported fee of £200,000, as the youngster confirmed his departure from the La Liga club on Instagram on June 30, 2020.
According to reports, United had agreed a deal to sign the Spaniard earlier this year, despite Barcelona's hopes of keeping him after offering him a lucrative long-term deal.
On his Instagram page, Jurado penned a heartfelt farewell message to the club, expressing his gratitude to the people who had helped him since he joined the prebenjamín in 2011.
"It's never easy to leave a team that has given you everything," he wrote. "FC Barcelona has been my second home, my second family, where I have developed as a player and as a person."
He added, "Today it's time to say goodbye, but not before expressing my gratitude to each of the people who have helped me since I started in the prebenjamín in the year 2011. I have been lucky to share my passion with a fantastic generation, with which I will always be linked."
Although it is yet to be seen where his next destination would be, reports have it that he is on his way to join the Red Devils.
