Bumula Member of Parliament Moses Mabonga was involved in a road accident on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2020, at Timboroa, along the Eldoret-Nairobi Highway.
Fortunately, the independent MP escaped unhurt, although it has not been confirmed whether he was taken to the hospital or admitted.
According to reports, Mabonga was traveling to Nairobi from Busia when the accident occurred.
Photos of his vehicle, a black Landcruiser V8, showed that the vehicle had rammed into an object from the front on the driver's side, with the bonnet smashed and front lights damaged.
Mabonga is known for his outspoken views, including calling on President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire his entire Cabinet and all corrupt public officers after the Head of State fired former Sports CS Rashid Echesa.
He stated, 'We are yet to be told what Echesa, the only Luhya in the Cabinet did. We can do much better than these people moving around you.'
During the Coronavirus pandemic, Mabonga also indicated that he would table an impeachment motion against four Cabinet Secretaries for allowing a plane carrying 239 passengers from China into the country.
He alleged that the four Cabinet Secretaries, including Rachel Omamo (Foreign affairs), James Macharia (Transport), Fred Matiang'i (Interior) and Cecil Kariuki (Health), had put the lives of Kenyans at risk.
He said, 'We are going to table their names in Parliament for impeachment for their attitude towards millions of Kenyans. It's now clear that the said CSs failed to protect Kenyan citizens and we don't see the reason why they should not be impeached.'
