Police in Bungoma are searching for a middle-aged man who allegedly killed his love rival after finding him at his girlfriend's house in Nambale on June 28.
The victim, 34, was stabbed multiple times by the suspect, who was reportedly footing the Ksh500 monthly rent for his girlfriend's house.
According to the landlord, there was a commotion at the house on Sunday night, but he suspected it was a minor domestic dispute between the tenant and her boyfriend.
However, on Monday morning, the landlord found the victim's body lying on the roadside near the house.
Residents identified the deceased as one of the lovers of their 30-year-old female neighbour, who had multiple boyfriends.
Attempts to lynch the woman were thwarted by police, who took her into custody.
The woman told police that her boyfriend fled the scene after stabbing the victim multiple times.
Nambale OCPD Walter Abondo urged Kenyans to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and to seek help from authorities in case of conflicts.
