Former KRA Manager, Wife Deny Tax Fraud Charges

On June 30, 2020, a former Kenya Revenue Authority manager and his wife appeared in court to face tax fraud charges.

Joseph Chege Gikonyo and his wife, Lucy Kangai, were accused of failing to pay Sh38.6 million in taxes between 2010 and 2015 while serving as directors of Giche Limited.

The couple pleaded not guilty to the charge and were ordered to deposit a Sh10 million bond each or pay an alternative cash bail of Sh5 million.
