On June 30, 2020, former Liverpool academy graduate Andre Wisdom was the victim of a shocking unprovoked assault in Liverpool.
According to reports, Wisdom, 27, was stabbed multiple times while driving to pick up a relative in the Toxteth/Wavertree area.
Wisdom, who had loan spells with West Brom, Norwich City, and Salzburg, was rushed to hospital and is now in stable condition.
Derby County, the club where Wisdom currently plays, confirmed the incident and expressed their support for the player and his family during this difficult time.
Wisdom, a Liverpool academy graduate, made his first-team debut for the Reds in 2012 and went on to make 21 appearances for the club.
He also represented England at the U-17 and U-21 levels, winning the European Championships with the U-17 team in 2010.
A Twitter user shared a statement from Derby County, saying: 'The attack left Wisdom nursing serious injuries.'
