On Tuesday morning, Andrew Kibe announced his departure from Kiss FM, where he co-hosted the morning show with Kamene Goro.
According to Kibe, he had given his notice three months prior due to constant censorship on the content he could air on national radio.
“I gave my notice three months ago because I was being censored on the content I could put out on national radio,” he said.
With his departure, Kibe has shifted his focus to creating content for his digital channels, where he can express himself freely without limitations.
“On social media, I can put out whatever I want without limitations, things I couldn’t say on the radio,” said Kibe.
Before joining Kiss FM, Kibe had a stint as a pastor and attempted to enter politics, contesting for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in the 2013 general elections under Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party.
His departure from Kiss FM comes as a surprise, given the popularity of the breakfast show he co-hosted with Kamene Goro, which had gained a significant following of 716,000 listeners in May 2020, according to data from GeoPoll.
