Tedd Josiah's Painful Past: Admitting to Abandoning Family

Published on June 30, 2020, Tedd Josiah, a renowned music producer, has shared a painful chapter from his past, admitting to abandoning his eldest kids and first wife in 2007.

During an interview with NTV, Josiah revealed that he was not in love with his first wife and felt societal pressure drove him into the marriage. He confessed to hurting his family and not being equipped to be a family man at the time.

Josiah explained that he was 'ticking boxes' and going through the motions of marriage without truly loving his partner. He realized that the woman he shared a bed with every day was not the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

The 49-year-old producer left his family and moved to the UK in 2007, amidst the country's political tension, after helping produce Gidi Gidi Maji Maji's song Unbwogable. He spent significant time away from his family, which deeply dented his relationship with them.

Josiah later realized he wanted a second chance and has since made amends with his eldest kids. However, his second wife, Regina Khatar, passed away in 2017 after a short illness, leaving him to raise their daughter alone.

Josiah often offers advice to absent dads on how to step up and be better parents, drawing from his own experiences.
