On June 30, 2020, a dramatic scene unfolded outside Milimani Courts as a woman, Mary Kwamboka Onyancha, protested, accusing Chief Justice David Maraga of abandoning his six-year-old daughter.
According to Onyancha, she met Maraga at a church in 2013 and had an affair, resulting in the birth of a baby girl. Despite her attempts to reach out to Maraga, he has allegedly refused to take care of their child.
Onyancha claimed that she has even attempted to take Maraga to court, but he refused to honor a summons from the children's court to settle the matter.
