On June 30, 2020, DJ Evolve, whose real name is Felix, spoke publicly for the first time about the events surrounding his alleged shooting by Babu Owino on national TV.
His mother, visibly emotional, shared her pain and hope for justice in the case. She expressed her desire for her son to receive justice, stating, 'I hope I will get justice for my kid. That is all I want when we go to court. I have never seen Babu and we have never talked. The pain I am in, I can not even talk. I only talk to my God. What I see is that my son’s life has been ruined.'
When asked about rumors that he had forgiven his alleged shooter, DJ Evolve replied, 'I have left this to God. I am waiting for the justice system to see what will go through. Besides that, I have nothing to say.'
His mother also revealed that the hospital bill for DJ Evolve's treatment had been settled by Babu Owino, with the deejay's mother stating, 'The bill was 17 million point something. A week before we were discharged. Babu had paid 7 million bit that is the agreement between him and the hospital.'
Despite the challenges he faces, DJ Evolve's mother remains hopeful that justice will be served, and her son will be able to regain his life and pursue his passion for music.
