Published on June 30, 2020, rumors were rife that Radio Jambo's morning presenter Joseph Ogidi, popularly known as Gidi Gidi, was leaving Kenya's top Swahili station Radio Jambo.

However, it turned out to be a hoax as Gidi Gidi joined his breakfast co-host Ghost Mulee for their show, putting the rumors to rest.

Speaking to his fans in a live session on his Facebook page, Gidi Gidi confirmed that he is not leaving Radio Jambo, stating, 'I am not leaving Radio Jambo, that can only happen if my boss tells me to do so.'

He also took the opportunity to unveil his personal app, which he believes will connect him more with his fans. The app, available on www.semanagidi.co.ke, will feature his live shows, podcasts, and even a chance to meet a soulmate.

Over the last 11 years as a radio host, Gidi Gidi has witnessed significant development in the media industry, with listeners shifting from traditional radio to digital platforms.
