Published on June 30, 2020, AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has predicted an end to the club's 22-year title drought in the Kenyan Premier League.
Shikanda, a former Kenyan international, praised his players for their resilience in the face of crippling financial challenges.
Despite the season being indefinitely suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Leopards are currently sixth on the KPL log with 40 points.
Speaking during the club's Annual General Meeting, Shikanda expressed his confidence in the team's ability to succeed.
“After a lot of work from a lot of people, things are really set up for football success at the den. Our resolve is to keep Leopards at the pinnacle of the game both at home and abroad,” said Shikanda.
The club has recently secured a Sh40 million sponsorship with international betting firm, Betsafe, which has given Ingwe a new lease of life after a tough season.
Shikanda thanked the Ingwe branch leadership and NEC members for their support during the club's financial struggles.
