January 17, 2020, was a fateful day for DJ Evolve, a renowned spinmaster who was shot in the neck at point-blank range by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino at B Club.
According to an interview with Dan Mwangi on NTV, DJ Evolve spoke candidly about his experience, revealing the devastating impact the incident has had on his life.
His hands, once his tools of trade, now have minimal mobility, and he struggles to sleep due to flashbacks of the traumatic event.
‘I am currently doing better as opposed to how I was the first time. I was completely traumatized at first but I am learning to live with it,’ DJ Evolve told Dan Mwangi.
Despite his efforts to cope, DJ Evolve continues to face challenges, including difficulty sleeping and limited mobility.
His mother, who is his primary caretaker, expressed her pain and concern for her son's well-being, stating, ‘Due to the pain (in my heart), I cannot talk. I just talk to my God. My son’s life has been destroyed. (I hope to get) justice for my kid. Only that.’
On the other hand, Babu Owino has chosen to forgive himself, saying, ‘It is a matter that is between me and God and I chose to forgive myself, we cannot change the past but we can change the future, let us focus on what is coming in the foreseeable future.'
