On June 29, 2020, Nairobi Police Commander Philip Ndolo confirmed the arrest of Starehe MP Charles Kanyi Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, over alleged incitement.

According to Commander Ndolo, Jaguar was arrested on Monday for allegedly transporting a group of youths to forcibly occupy shops at a Grogon building.

However, Jaguar denied the allegations through his Twitter account, claiming his arrest was connected to his push for fair allocation of stalls at Mwariro Market.

"I'm currently at Nairobi Area. The charges against me are unclear though they seem connected to Mwariro Market," Jaguar tweeted on Monday.

He vowed to continue fighting for his constituents, stating that being a leader is tough but his resolve remains unshaken.
