Francis Kaaria, the second vice president of Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK), has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to the sport.
According to reports, Kaaria died in Meru on Friday, leaving his family, relatives, and friends in a state of great sorrow.
As a respected figure in the boxing community, Kaaria served as the BFK Meru County chairman and was a former Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, where he was also the chairman of the Kenya Prisons Boxing Federation.
BFK President Anthony 'Jamal' Ombok has described Kaaria as a dedicated sports person who served with humility, saying, "May his soul rest in eternal peace and our sincere condolences go to his family, relatives and friends at this time of great sorrow."
Other notable figures who have sent their condolences include BFK Technical Director Albert Matito, Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed, Principal Secretary Joe Okudo, National Olympic Committee of Kenya (Nock) President Paul Tergat, and several others.
