Published on June 29, 2020, Kenya Railways has introduced a stimulus tariff for the Madaraka Express Freight Service to cushion customers from the economic impacts of Covid-19.
The subsidised tariff, which will be in place for 90 days, aims to help customers affected by the current economic situation.
According to Kenya Railways Managing Director Philip Mainga, the service has witnessed a steady increase in cargo uptake in the past few weeks.
Mainga noted that the Madaraka Express Freight Service takes 10 hours to transport cargo between Mombasa and Naivasha.
