Iran Issues Arrest Warrant for Donald Trump ¶
On January 3, 2020, a drone attack in Baghdad killed Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, sparking heightened tensions between the Middle East and the West.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced 'harsh revenge' against the assassins and declared three days of national mourning for Soleimani.
According to Tehran prosecutor Ali Alqasimeh, US President Donald Trump, along with 30 others, faces murder and terrorism charges for masterminding the death of Soleimani.
Iran has requested Interpol's help in detaining Trump and his co-accused, but it is highly probable that the request will not be granted due to Interpol's guidelines prohibiting politically-motivated activities.
Trump had claimed that Soleimani had planned attacks on the US, and the Iranian leader was considered the second most powerful dignitary in Iran.
Iran's military leader was executed in an airstrike ordered by the US president, and Trump said the Iranian leader was responsible for the deaths of millions of people worldwide.
