On June 29, 2020, Starehe MP Charles 'Jaguar' Njagua was taken into custody by Nairobi Area police headquarters for questioning.

The MP's arrest came after Nairobi Region Police Commander Philip Ndolo alleged that Njagua had incited traders to forcefully occupy the new Mwariro Market stalls.

Commander Ndolo's statement marked the beginning of an investigation into the MP's actions, which were deemed to have the potential to spark unrest in the region.
