COVID-19 in Kenya: 120 New Cases Bring Total to 6,190

On June 29, 2020, Health CAS Rashid Aman announced 120 new cases of COVID-19 in Kenya, bringing the total to 6,190.

The new cases were identified from a sample size of 2,221 tested in the last 24 hours.

According to Dr. Aman, the majority of the new cases are from Nairobi and Mombasa, with Busia being the third most affected county due to its border points.

Out of the 120 new cases, 115 are Kenyans, while five are foreigners.

The distribution of the new cases is as follows: Nairobi (67), Mombasa (17), Kajiado (9), Machakos (9), Kiambu (8), Uasin Gishu (6), Nakuru (2), and Narok (2).

The new cases include 84 males and 36 females.

Unfortunately, one more person succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya, raising the death toll to 144.

Dr. Aman noted that the deceased was a 64-year-old patient from Mombasa who was diabetic.

Additionally, 42 people have been discharged, bringing the total recoveries to 2,013.
