June 29, 2020 - Kenya's COVID-19 cases have continued to rise, with 120 new cases reported on Monday.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman, the new cases were confirmed from 2,221 samples tested since Sunday.

Of the new cases, 67 were recorded in the capital city of Nairobi.

Unfortunately, one more fatality was reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 144.

However, 42 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,013.

Kenya has implemented tough restriction measures, including a night curfew and cessation of movement to and from Nairobi, Mandera, and Mombasa, where higher infections have been recorded since February.

The restrictions are set to expire on July 6, when President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to announce new measures.
