On June 29, 2020, Starehe MP Charles Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar, was arrested for allegedly inciting a group of youth to take ownership of shops in Nairobi.
The arrest occurred while Jaguar was taking the youth to a Grogon building, where he allegedly encouraged them to claim ownership of shops.
Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo confirmed the arrest, stating that Jaguar was taken to the Nairobi Police Area.
Speaking on social media, Jaguar said, 'I'm currently at Nairobi Area. The charges against me are unclear though they seem connected to Mwariro Market. I'll keep fighting for my constituents. Being a leader is tough but my resolve remains unshaken. Allocations at Mwariro Market have to be fair.'
