On June 29, 2020, Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina appeared before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku, facing charges of fanning tribal hatred during a TV interview.

According to reports, the Senator made the remarks on a live TV show on February 20, which led to the charges being filed against him.

He denied the charge and was granted a Sh100,000 cash bail or Sh200,000 bond, and was also ordered not to comment on his case.

The case will be mentioned on July 30, 2020.
