On June 26, two armed robbers were caught on camera attempting to break into a safe at a liquor store in Nairobi's Umoja 1 estate.
The footage, which surfaced on June 29, shows the robbers struggling to access the safe for over three minutes.
According to the footage, the two men, one wearing a dark puff jacket and the other a black hoody, entered the store just before closing time and locked the door behind them.
They ordered a customer and two shop attendants to lie on the floor while they attempted to access the safe.
Despite their efforts, the robbers were unable to open the safe, and it was only when one of them crawled towards it that they were finally able to gain access and steal cash.
The robbers exited the store as quickly as they entered, leaving the hostages visibly shaken.
Notably, the robbers failed to notice the CCTV cameras that captured their unmasked faces throughout the robbery.
Armed robbery has been on the rise in Nairobi, with a recent incident occurring just days after two suspects were apprehended for a daring daylight robbery along Lenana Road, Kilimani.
