On Sunday, comedian Kasee was found dead on his way home in Nginduri, Kinoo. The chairman of Comedians in Kenya Society, Ken Waudo, revealed that initial reports suggest Kasee may have consumed a poisoned drink.
Comedian Zeddy, who took to her Instagram page to express her grief, hinted that Kasee might have been struggling with depression, a common issue affecting many Kenyan comedians.
She lashed out at people who quickly post RIP messages on social media without offering support to those in need, warning them to never post her photos in the event of her death.
Instead, she encouraged her fans to share her photos and names of those who allegedly take advantage of comedians.
She wrote, "Death is inevitable, but the way comedians are being victimized has gone too far. It's time for people to know what's eating away at our colleagues, leading them to take their own lives. Let's expose those who are taking advantage of us."
Her post sparked a conversation about the recent comedian deaths, including that of Njenga Mswahili, who passed away due to depression last year.
