On June 29, 2020, a dramatic arrest was made in Nyandarua, Kenya, as police apprehended a suspected serial killer.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man, was taken into custody after an attempted murder in Ol Joro Orok Constituency.
According to reports, the suspect had dug a tunnel to access a room where a woman and her children were sleeping, but was thwarted by the victim's quick thinking.
The woman, identified as Jane Kuria, raised the alarm and pleaded with the suspect not to harm her and her children.
She positively identified her assailant and led the police to the suspect's house, where crude weapons were recovered.
The suspect had a history of crime, having been jailed for robbery, and was described by police as a 'jailbird' released from prison the previous year.
During the raid, police also recovered six mobile phones.
The arrest comes less than a week after top security officers were transferred due to laxity in resolving the murders and rampant livestock theft.
