On June 25, 2020, a shocking CCTV footage of a mugging in the upscale Kilimani neighborhood went viral, leaving many Kenyans stunned.
The incident occurred at 6:40 am along Lenana Road, and the video captured the brazen act of robbery.
Two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a dagger, approached an unsuspecting city man, who was carrying a laptop bag, and demanded that he hand over his bag.
Without resistance, the victim complied, and the thieves ransacked his pockets.
Thanks to swift police action, four suspects, including the two armed men, were arrested in Pangani, where they had been hiding.
The suspects, who also included the wife of one of the thieves and another occupant of the house, were apprehended after police tracked them down from Kawangware.
During the arrest, police recovered a knife and some of the clothes worn by the thieves on the day of the robbery.
The suspects are expected to appear in court the following day.
