On June 27, 2020, former Gatanga MP and 2013 Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth announced his readiness to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in his home county of Murang'a, Kenneth emphasized his commitment to helping the president achieve the promises made to Kenyans under the Jubilee government.
"We cannot be the majority and be left out when major decisions are being made," Kenneth said, highlighting the importance of representation from the Mt. Kenya region in national politics.
Notably, Kenneth's pledge comes at a time when there are rumors of a looming cabinet reshuffle, with some Mt. Kenya leaders pushing for his appointment to the cabinet.
MPs Nduati Ngugi (Gatanga), Peter Kimari (Mathioya), and Gichuki Mugambi (Othaya) have also lauded Kenneth as a good leader who deserves to be in the government to help President Kenyatta implement his Big Four Agenda.
