Comedian Zeddy, whose real name is Zainabu Zeddy, had a premonition about the death of a comedian 8 months ago. In a social media post, she warned that depression was a leading killer among comedians due to low financial gains.
She made the warning while mourning the death of Churchill Raw comedian Njenga Mswahili, who was found dead on November 7, 2019, in Ndonyo Market, Dagoretti South, after allegedly being hit by a train.
On June 28, 2020, Comedian Kasee was found dead on the road leading to his home in Kinoo. His body was transferred to Chiromo Mortuary. The police are yet to give out a detailed report on what caused his death.
Comedian Zeddy had specifically mentioned Kasee in her post, saying, “Kwasasa namtafuta mmoja wetu Kasee ukiwa na habari kumhusu Dm pliz..before Rip nyingine ni hayo tu. Rip Njenga Mswahili koma thayo jaba🙏.”
She had also appealed to the public to be mindful of the pressure they put on comedians, saying, “My prayer to family and friends, don’t heap too much pressure and expectations on us, because, just like you we are also hustling.”
Comedian Kasee is survived by a wife and two children.
