On June 25, 2020, Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Juma handed down a guilty verdict against Sirisia MP John Waluke and his co-accused Grace Wakhungu, fining them Sh727 million and Sh707 million respectively for defrauding the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) of Sh300 million.
As part of their sentence, the two will serve a seven-year jail term if they fail to pay the fines.
Waluke's second wife, Roselyn, has taken to social media to appeal for public help in raising the amount, stating, 'You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us.'
She also requested that well-wishers channel their financial support to her number 0728732542, awaiting an M-Pesa Paybill number.
However, her appeal has been met with resistance from online users who have vowed not to contribute, citing that Waluke should take responsibility for his actions.
