South African golfer Garrick Frittelli, ranked 105th in the world, has become the fourth PGA Tour player to test positive for COVID-19 since the circuit resumed on June 11.

Although Frittelli missed the cut at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut over the weekend, he has now been withdrawn from the field as a precautionary measure.

"I am experiencing no issues and feel great physically and was surprised and disappointed to learn of the positive test today," Frittelli said in a statement.

The PGA Tour has assured that anyone who may have come into contact with Frittelli has been traced, but additional testing is not currently recommended.

Frittelli will now go into self-isolation and expressed gratitude for the Tour's assistance and protocols, which he will continue to follow to ensure everyone's safety.

He looks forward to returning to the PGA Tour once it is safe to do so.
