On June 25, 2020, Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Juma handed down a Sh727 million fine to Sirisia MP John Waluke and his co-accused Grace Wakhungu after they were found guilty of defrauding the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) of Sh300 million.
Waluke and Wakhungu were sentenced to seven years in jail if they fail to pay the fines. In a bid to save her husband from jail, Roselyn Waluke has pleaded with well-wishers to help the family raise the amount.
Appealing to the public, Roselyn said, 'You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us.' She also requested financial assistance, asking people to channel their support to her number 0728732542, awaiting an M-Pesa Paybill number.
However, her appeal was met with anger from online users who vowed not to contribute, saying Waluke should pay for his own sins.
