June 28, 2020, will be etched in the memories of Naivasha residents for a long time, following the shocking discovery of four lifeless bodies in a house.

The tragic incident was preceded by a series of events, including a detailed letter written by the accused woman to her eldest son.

According to the letter, the woman was struggling to make ends meet, with a Sh1,400 electricity bill and unpaid house rent since April weighing heavily on her.

She accused her boyfriend of betraying her love, warning her son to stay away from him.

Despite her dire situation, the woman encouraged her son to continue with his studies and take care of his younger brother.

She even revealed her plans for the children's burial, having bought new outfits for them.

However, the woman's actions took a dark turn, as she poisoned and smothered her four children, aged between seven and two years.

Investigations revealed that a relative had visited the accused on Friday, pleading to take the children, but she refused.

The family is still reeling from the shock, with the accused's brother describing the scene as 'heart-wrenching'.
