On June 28, 2020, Miguna Miguna announced that he would not be appearing on K24 TV's Punchline, citing last-minute changes to the planned discussion.

According to Miguna, the organizers had attempted to 'compromise his stand on pertinent issues,' which he deemed unacceptable.

He wrote on Facebook, 'I have cancelled my appearance after your last minute attempt to dilute the important national issues I had agreed to discuss.'

Miguna was set to discuss issues such as graft and the perceived quagmire under President Kenyatta's administration.

However, he faulted political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi for trying to shift the course of the interview to topics that Miguna was not interested in discussing.

Responding to Ngunyi's accusations that he was pro-drama, Miguna fired back, saying, 'Come and debate me on Anne Kiguta's Punchline instead of hiding inside Anne Waiguru's skirt. I am ready to reduce you to dust tonight.'

With Miguna's cancellation, the program was rescheduled, and Ndegwa Njiru will now appear on the show.
