Kenya's COVID-19 death toll rose to 143 on June 28, 2020, after the Ministry of Health reported two more virus-related deaths.

With over 6,000 infections reported since March, the country's case fatality rate has stabilized at 2.4 percent, down from 5.1 percent in April.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangagi reported that 35 additional patients had been discharged after recovering from the virus.

There are 3,956 active coronavirus cases under care, with the majority being mild.

The health ministry reported that 41 out of 47 counties have confirmed coronavirus cases, with Lamu being the latest to report a single case.

As of June 28, 2020, the World Health Organization reported over 10 million COVID-19 cases, over 500,000 deaths, and over 5 million recoveries globally.
