On June 26, 2020, a devastating incident shook Kyanguu village in Matiliku, Nzaui Sub County, Makueni County, when a 10-year-old girl took her own life.
According to the police, the minor's body was found dangling from a tree by her mother at their homestead at around 4:30 pm, with a rope around her neck.
‘The mother found the girl after she had just hanged herself and attempts to save her failed,’ said Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan.
The body was taken to Kilome Nursing Home mortuary for post-mortem examination, and the case is currently under investigation.
