On Saturday, June 27, Leeds United secured a convincing 3-0 home win against promotion rivals Fulham at Elland Road, propelling them back to the top of the English Championship.
Patrick Bamford gave Leeds an early lead in the 10th minute, scoring his 14th goal of the season after running onto Helder Costa's cutback.
Leeds doubled their lead in the 56th minute when Jack Harrison's ball into the box was turned home by substitute Ezgjan Alioski, who had been brought on to replace Mateusz Klich.
With the win, Leeds took a three-point lead over West Brom, who are still five points clear of third-placed Brentford despite a 1-0 loss to the London club on Friday.
Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa praised the team's performance, saying, 'In the first half, it was difficult for us to recover the ball in the opponent's half and when we were close to our box we lost it again quickly.' He added, 'The win was necessary for us and very important.'
Elsewhere in the Championship, Preston dropped out of the play-off places after losing 3-1 at home to Cardiff, while Derby climbed up to eighth and boosted their play-off hopes by beating Reading 2-1.
At the other end of the table, Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock won his first match with a 2-0 victory away to fellow strugglers Stoke, taking Boro two points clear of the relegation zone.
